♥ Nay-Say Your Life Away ♥
The sad thing is, is that we all do it, to a certain extent. Can you relate? Do you remember an incident where there was something you wanted, but immediately talked yourself out of it with some negative self-talk? It could be anything from, "Gee I'd love to wear those jeans..." and then telling yourself that you're too fat, too thin, too old, too whatever... Or, it can go much deeper than that and affect really important things like the people we choose as life-partners. Have you ever felt that someone you were interested in was too good to approach and ask out? That you didn't have what it took to be with that person? You're not alone. Almost everyone experiences such debilitating negativity, especially in certain areas of life, most commonly in regards to self-worth.
It's so sad. Really. It breaks my heart to know that because of some damn beliefs (ones that were likely adopted from someone else, a long, long time ago and are no longer even relevant), you are not having the joyful and wonder-filled life you want and deserve (and could have). Can you see were you might be doing this in your life? Can you see how it keeps you stuck, and little, and unhappy? It is scary how potent this poison is.
And guess what?!?! It gets even better, even bigger than that! When you allow for things to happen for yourself, in your life, you then learn to do the same for others. Oh yeah! No more making up things about other people and limiting them either. What if you allowed everyone the space to show up genuinely, and if you observed them for who they really are, no matter what they look like, sound like or who they "appear" to be at first glance? How would your life change if you gave other people a chance? It always just floors me when I find out how brilliant and talented people are, and it's become my intention and daily commitment to be open, to see the best in people, to not just allow them to shine, but to shine as much light on them as I can, and support them as best as I can, so that they can shine even brighter. Goodness! I'm getting goosebumps and tingles just writing this! Try it! It's an awesome high to be open and curious!
If you have a problem with this notion, or cannot even imagine how you'd do it, even if you wanted to, just think of your favorite puppy, kitten or baby, and remember what it's like to observe them as they naturally do their thing. You do allow them that freedom, right? We all watch these sweet things do their thing, and we cannot get enough! We are wonder-filled and curious about what they'll do next, and we are amused by it all, no matter how silly. THAT is what I'm talking about... be curious, be open, and be dazzled by life! Who knows what you'll attract!
and here's a great and heart-warming example
